I am sure we have all been there before, walking down the aisle of a second hand store or even pass by some old lighting at a garage sale, and you think to yourself...those lamps are so outdated in a bad way!
Well I thought that too when I inherited this lamp, it was defiantly 80s, I held on to it for who knows what reason.
Though I am happy I did! One day I was strolling through Walmart and came the gray and white lamp shade you see in the picture above. It was then it donned on me, all that lamp needed was a little TLC.
So lets get started:
The first thing you need to do is wash your the base of the lamp, to ensure that the paint will stick properly.
Than pick out your paint color is used White Spray paint from Rust-Oleum.
When the Lamp base is dry, use painter tape to cover the metal parts of the lamp.
Make sure to spray the Paint outside or in a well ventilated area.
Spray 2X coats of Rust-Oleum spray paint
Let paint dry, remove painters tape from the metal areas
I painted the metal areas with black acrylic paint - if you do this you must spray lamp with a clear coat of paint.
After the paint is dry, add your lamp shade. with this particular lamp shade the light bulb itself holds the shade in place.
And your done!! Please refer to video for more guidance
